Review: My Heart Stood Still by:Lori Copeland

My Heart Stood Still (Sisters of Mercy Flats #2)
About the Book:
“The Sisters of Mercy Flats”, begun in Promise Me Today, continues in this wonderful new Western-flavored historical romance. The McDougal sisters are experts at swindling men, and this time Anne-Marie enters into a bargain bordering on blackmail–with a Crow warrior.

My Review:
When the wagon taking the three McDougal sisters to jail is attacked by Comanche Indians, each sister is rescued by a different man. Leaving the sisters, separated and riding in all different directions.

Anne-Marie McDougal awakens in the arms of an Indian by the name of Creed Walker. He isn’t just any Indian, he’s a handsome, yet irritating hunk of an Indian. He is quite different from other Indian, but Anne-Marie isn’t sure what makes him different though. He saved her from being scalped but he still ignores her, leaving her believing that he doesn’t understand English much less, care about her well-being. After a long, silent night Creed and Anne-Marie venture into a town, where they are imprisoned and sentenced to be hung at dawn. All thanks to the McDougal sisters scam.

Anne-Marie believes the end is near, and she will finally after all this time, pay for her wrongs. That is until a nice dark-skinned man by the name Quincy, shows up. Breaking out of jail, was quite simple, now escaping is a different story. Taking a wagon they leave town quickly, but as they go along they notice something isn’t quite right about the wagon after all. Anne-Marie discovers two big boxes of gold, making her not just a con-artist but also a big time thief.

I really loved reading this book. My Heart Stood Still is a wonderful addition to the Sisters of Mercy Flats. I can’t wait to learn of who Amelia McDougal was rescued by. It’s sure to be another great read!

**Disclosure**This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Harvest House.
